Windows 7 by default defrags on a schedule. This does nothing for speed but adds wear to your SSD.

Hey gang,
I am fascinated with SSD, so I have decided to test drive one of those bad boys on my laptop. Before, I operate on my system. I am going to give you the specs of my system so you guys can advice if upgrading is a good idea.
I have a 4g, Windows 7, I3 processor 2.53 ghz, and A05 Bios. I've bought my laptop in November of 2011 and updated my Bios in June of 2012.
So upgrading to a SSD is okay in this 4 year old laptop?
