Most modern BIOS will detect if there is boot disk and if the new SSD isn't designated as such you will have the option to install your OS from a jump drive or an external USB HD. Once you have followed the OS setup and designated the new SSD as your boot drive you should be able to run it as normal and remove the OS drive from the USB.
I'd recommend that you run updates once you have wifi setup and make sure the security is up to date.
Hope that helps,

If I have a new laptop which has not been booted up, and I install a SSD to it can I configure my laptop via the BIOS to have the (first) boot run on my SSD instead of the HDD it came with, without pre-installing windows 10 to said SSD?
