Thanks for the answers! So....if I want a noise-less laptop, should I look for one w/ less power as versus more? To clarify, I'm running Windows 10 w/ only Chrome open, and the fan is constantly on (fan turns on strong at boot-up, and reduces in speed, but stays on, about 2MIN later). Nothing "labor" intensive is running.
Compared to my old and weak ACER netbook w/ an SDD in it, the old ACER fan is rarely on. Is the better CPU and other components hurting me?
I recently bought an ASUS laptop w/ a SSD. Whenever I would talk about getting an SSD w/ friends who have modified their laptops, they say the fan no longer runs (ie: the hard drive is much cooler, since it isn't an HDD). However, mine is running almost constantly (albeit not super strong). It still bothers me when I'm working on it in a quiet room and can hear it. Is this normal nowadays? The techs at the store I bought it at say it is, even running minimal applications.
