Surprised Apple is so high, great hardware but not known for reliability.
(Squaretrade.com is in the business of selling extended warranties. Note that they are highly respected by their consumers, but always keep in mind who's doing a study.)
So, who makes the best --and worst-- laptops in terms of reliability?
One the "Best" side:
Asus comes out on top, followed by Toshiba
On the "Worst" side:
HP, followed closely by Gateway, Acer, and Lenovo
Apple and Dell, by the way, are in the middle of the pack.
By the way, looking at a Netbook? Squaretrade says to expect them to fail at a rate 20 percent higher than conventional laptops.
