SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry

Jan 23, 2005 12:39PM PST

I have been trying to access a forum site that I visit on a regular basis, but for the last two days I have been unable to do so. I keep receiving the following message:

phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry '-1' for key 2

INSERT INTO phpbb_sessions (session_id, session_user_id, session_start, session_time, session_ip, session_page, session_logged_in) VALUES ('cc3343c8334e915454b1f979c816e4b8', -1, 1106505623, 1106505623, 'c82f088e', 0, 0)

Line : 158
File : /home/andrnet/www/phpbb/includes/sessions.php

I have searched the Web for a solution but as I am no computer literate I am quite lost. My OS is XP Pro and the above happens only when I try accessing the mentioned site.

Appreciate any help you can give.

Many thanks

Ipolaris,

Only one solution: contact the webmaster of that site. It's his program (phpBB) and his database giving the error. Not your fault at all, and any solution should be done on the server also.

SQL Error 1062

Thanks Kees. It's a relief to know that I am not at fault. I will try and contact the site Webmaster or alternatively wait a few days and see what happens.
Thank you for your reply.

Ipolaris, It Sounds Like The McAfee Forum....
Jan 24, 2005 2:40AM PST

...I'm a moderator there and I'm having the same problems..It's not your fault. The McAfee forum has been having that problem since they updated their software to the newest version so they can avoid the new Santy worm/virus....If it's not the McAfee forum, then it's very possible that your forum may have been infected with the new worm/virus which causes issues with the PhpBB forums. Here's a link to that particular worm:

Perl/Santy.worm

Hope this helps.

SQL Error 1062

Many thanks for your reply, Grif. I've followed your links and the problem does seem to be related to a virus affecting the site server. I will try and get in touch with the site webmaster, if not will wait and see what happens over the next few days. Thanks again for your advice.

Cheers
