by zeeman / December 1, 2004 11:17 AM PST

I have used Ad-Aware( free version),Giant Antispyware( free download), and Spybot S&D. I still can't get my home page URL I then down loaded Spy Docter (to make this do anything other than scan one has to purchase it for $29.95) and it detected a lot of spyware and Browser Hackers the ones removed by the other three. In addition I can't get rid of about:blank, homesearch, and some others. Can anyone please help. I am using XP with service pack 2, Norton 2005 set at max. can anyone please help. Thanks - zeeman

P.S I have also started to use Firefox which works like a charm, but I am afraid to visit some web sites for fear of attack

Hi Zeeman
I believe that "About:Buster" will remove homesearch. Read and follow the directions on the bottom of the page in this link, then go to the top of the page and download it and do what it told you on the directions, then report back with the results and some more info as to what else you have on your computer for malware.

Hello Zeeman, I received your email, but couldn't reply
From what I found in the Opera forum it is nothing for me to worry about after all. I have tried all of the programs there are and all said I don't have the about:blank virus. I just didn't understand why my page
always went to blank when I opened Opera:)Thanks for caring and wish I had more help to offer you.
Glenda

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
