Hi Grif...I just wanted to say thanks for the post. I've been trying to clean my nephew's computer (spywarestrike) with a different tool, not realizing immediately that it was a nasty little ******. Again, thanks for the tip.

Kudos for the post Grif. I was infected by Spyware Strike this past Sunday and was able to get rid of it entirely by following your directions. Thanks for the help!!

Spyware Problems

You should try using the Xoftspy software to remove the spyware that has infected your computer. They will allow you to do a free scan to show you the number of infections currently on your system but you have to register the product for a fee of $39.95 to quarantine and delete everything that it finds. I had the same problem you described. It started after I accidentally opened an email from my Junk Mail folder. I tried most of the other spyware removers but the thing kept regenerating after I scan my cumputer and remove it. The Xoftcopy Spyware Remover has proven to be the best tool that seems to be able to control almost all of the current spywares, malwares and trojans that are lurking out there. If you do a keyword search for 'Xoftspy' on this site you will be directed to several links that will take you to the sponsor. Some of them contain testimonials from people who have used the product so you can review before you buy.

It Won't Remove Spyware Strike
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / February 2, 2006 4:47 AM PST
In reply to: Spyware Problems

That's the problem with ALL of the current, standard spyware removal tools. Although they may ID the problem, unfortunately, it takes special tools to clean it up.

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
