Spyware?? problem with default homepage

Mar 17, 2004 5:09PM PST

I get pop up adverts on my PC when I turn on the internet and my homepage changes. I change my homepage in internet options, and it works ok for a while, but then defaults back to the same URL.

Someone suggested spyware?? Perhaps its a virus..

Ok I ran the test and it found one or two spyware progs. I then decided to download a piece of software to scan my drives..

I had Favouriteman and SeekSeek (severe), plus various medium risk cookies. I have had this machine running for 2 weeks since install, its a scary thought. I'd hate to think about how insecure my machine would have been had I left it!
