Question

Spyware Hunter any good?

Oct 3, 2014 1:03PM PDT

Heck, I like freebies and will try something different now and then especially if it becomes recommended. That'sjust the case for Spyware Hunter and tried it. Understand, I already use Malwaremeagabyes and Superantispyware and these report back, 0/zero or nothing found. Run Spyware Huneter and bam!, it finds well over a 100 baddies. Of course, you have to pay to remove them. Googling, reports good/bad about the product yet again running many of the freebies of various brands report little or 0, yet this pgm. finds many. What can you say about it?

SpyHunter is a rip off. They offer a free scan then want you to pay $29.95 to remove the junk they find.

Spyware Hunter or SpyHunter?

Willy,

Youi wrote ... 'Googling, reports good/bad about the product yet again running many of the freebies of various brands report little or 0, yet this pgm. finds many. What can you say about it?'

IF it's SpyHunter by Enigma Software, I have plenty to say about it. IF it's not SpyHunter, no need to read any further.

I included the following in a post titled "Reasons to remove SpyHunter " :

"Not long ago I had cause to post about SpyHunter, as I feel I do now. Within my post I referenced a post titled ""i can't uninstall spyhunter NO MATTER WHAT"

As already noted in the above-referenced post, it includes (in part) a quote from a moderator at BleepingComputer .....

'Newer versions of SpyHunter apparently installs it's own "Compact OS" and uses Grub4Dos loader to execute on boot up. The user no longer sees the normal Windows boot menu but instead sees the GRUB menu. For some folks this has resulted in SpyHunter causing a continuous loop when attempting to boot."

"When searching for unfamiliar or unknown malware on the Internet, it is not unusual to find numerous hits from untrustworthy and scam sites which misclassify detections or provide misleading information. This is deliberately done more as a scam to entice folks into buying an advertised fix or using a free removal tool. SpyHunter (SpyHunter-Installer.exe) is one of the most common "so-called" removal tools pushed by these sites
."

From the same post: Read "SpyHunter ad campaign an enigma"

If you need to know more about SpyHunter, do a forum search and read what (mostly negative) experiences our members have had. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole! But that's .. JMHO. ( OK. Maybe not so humble Happy )

Answer
judge by yourself

Willy,

I am a user of SpyHunter. I do not want to say how much function it has. The only one point I want to emphasize is that SpyHunter is supported by a powerful technology team so that I can recerive a high quality of after-sale service.

So you can judge the antivirus by yourself. There are still many users appreciating the program. It is a strong evidence, isn't it?

Finally, I want to say you get what you pay for.
