Try ewido and see if it picks anything up. You may not need the log but it might come in handy at a later time.

Problem: Advertisement/suspicious webpages load automatically into my default browser; the foul entries in the "hosts" file restore themselves after any sort of modification.
Background: I am using Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7, the spyware entered when I was using Avant browser; periodically, it automatically loads suspicious web-pages due to the present spyware/adware in my Windows. After the first Ad-aware scan, it, nor all other anti-spyware (eTrust, Spybot, CounterSpy apps detect anything. And yet Firefox automatically loads these advertisement webpages. I've tried modifying the "hosts" file but to no avail, it restores itself to once again contain the foul entries.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
