Spyware Help and questions...

by Rick Beach / April 6, 2004 7:53 AM PDT

I just spent 3 hours cleaning up a friends computer, of JUNK...,but there are 2 things that I don't know what they are. One is a start up item with the name of (Enm7v1Va) and the other is a running process in Task Manager (Puuo045.exe)or (Puuoo045.exe). I have Googled these items and found nothing. Does anyone know what these are? And they can be gotten rid of?

Thank's Rick

Hi Rick,

what do you see as you RIGHTclick on these items and look in "properties" ??

Here is a long list with Startup Programs:

Couldn't find the ones you mention. Did you run ad aware\SpybotS&D ??

I Right clicked on these items, but nothing showed up. The first one is in MSCONFIG ,under startup items. And the second one is listed in task manager, when you right click your taskbar and click on task manager. The OS is XP Home . Yes I run Ad-Aware. That's how I found and removed all the JUNK that was in there computer. Did not run SpybotS&D.. run out of time today to do that.

Hi Rick,

Sometimes we need to stop the running processes before doing a deletion. Try to stop the active processes of those entry (via Task Manager>Processes tab>highlight the offending entry then click Ed Process. Then run Spybot S&D or run Ad-aware again. See if Ad-aware or Spybot S&D will detect anything again. If any of this anti-spyware programs asked you to reboot, do it.

If those entry kept appearing, run an online scan using Housecall or Panda ActiveScan.

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
