spyware blaster problems

I have Windows XP..broadband connection. use 99% of the time Mozilla Firefox. Have also Ad aware and Ewido...the last few days my spyware blaster that always says all is protected..has been having 294 unprotected in "restricted sites" the IE and Mozilla still say all enabled. I click to enable all and then it goes to 32 ...click again...28...again...back to 0...then it is ok for a while..then next day again 294...I uninstalled and then did another download of it...same thing happening. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be??

If you click on the message of you have 1 unprotected item, it will show you the item in grey.

Try unprotecting all items, wait ten seconds, then enable all items.

See what your results are. You did update it before you enabled the protection?

next time it does say 294 unprotected I will try to see what they are. I just read this but before I did it was AGAIN 294 not protected and I clicked and clicked till it is at 0. It is soooo frustrating. I did just do what you suggested..I click unprotect all and I waited 10 seconds. I click on update all the time and there is never one...When was the last time it had an update..I find that odd.

If you continue to have problems with this, I'd suggest that you uninstall Spyware Blaster, restart your computer, then reinstall it.


Their website gives you the download information.

of SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 ??

Just a thought.... do you have Webroot Spysweeper on your computer?

Webroot SpySweeper may prevent SpywareBlaster from enabling Restricted Sites protection. The following work-around should allow you to enable protection in SpywareBlaster:

1.) Disable the SpySweeper "IE Security Shield".
2.) Open SpywareBlaster and enable all protection.
3.) Re-enable the SpySweeper "IE Security Shield".

If you find this workaround is too much trouble every time SpywareBlaster updates, you can also just disable the IE Security Shield in SpySweeper permanently until the issue is fixed.

(And, if you are a customer of Webroot, please e-mail them about the conflict and let them know - thanks! )
