Spybot 1.3

by radean / July 19, 2004 2:29 AM PDT

Been trying to get an update for 3 days now, but all I get is:

!!!bad checksum !

Checking on the Spybot forums says this may mean the servers are overloaded, but 10 tries in 3 days still fail.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

When faced with such, I try other update servers or just uninstall, download latest and install it.

I find I don't have to keep this one updated daily like the antivirus. I could be wrong about that.

Spybot doesn't seem to update very often. But there is an update available, just can't get it.
In the previous version, there was an option to select a server for downloads. For whatever reason, I don't see that option anymore.
Would appreciate any advice if you know how to enable the alternate servers option.
And, far as I know, this is the latest version.

HI Ray,

there are NO new updates ! The latest I have is dated July 9, 2004

"Bad checksum" - normally you ONLY have to choose a different server - EON Australia is reliable !

Didn't see the option to select a download server. Must have Oldtimers desease.
After finding the options, went to EON and got the update right away. Sorry about that.
Feel free to delete the post if you wish.

I may be having a senior moment too, but I am sure I did get a download yesterday? after a couple of error boxes. It certainly was after the 7th.

What do you NOT understand?

You have downloaded "normal" updates AND "BETA" updates.

Looks "normal" to me Happy

I only downloaded the updates on the 12th. What are the other entries for the 11th and 13th, and why have other people not been able to received an update since the 9th of july?
