I have had a hard time removing this adware I have norton's.It will find it but it cannot remove it and the removal step are very lenghty.webroot spy sweeper found it and removed it I really think norton's is losing this battle of anti virus
I have a Compaq Presario 6000 running a P4 with Windows XP and Norton Anti-Virus. I was able to remove Spyaxe by rebooting into the safe mode. Backing up my files, and disabling the System Restore feature. I did a search of ''Spyaxe'' Then deleted all files created on the date of the infection. I went to the directory, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32, and changed wbeconm.dll to wbeconm.bak. Then I reinstall Norton Anti-Virus. Rebooted the system. Updated Windows XP and anti-virus software. Then enable the System Restore feature.
