spoolsv.exe is missing after instaling new lexmark printer

I'm running Windows XP Home. I installed a new lexmark x5470 printer. After installation, there is no longer an entry for Print Spooler in my list of services (Conrol Panel/Administrative Tools/Services) and a search of my C drive doesn't find spoolsv.exe so I can't restart the print spool service (there is a spoolsv application). There were no CD's that came with my computer (a 2 1/2 year old HP Pavillion a1203w) so I can't try to pull anything off of installation disks. How can I get spoolsv.exe back and get an entry in the services for print spooler?
