split audio signal from xbox

Aug 17, 2005 5:13AM PDT

is it possible to split the stereo output (2 phono) from my xbox so that i can plug it into my tv and my amp?

i usually have the xbox plugged into my amp however sometimes it needs to go into the tv, for example when i want a cd through my amp at the same time. at the moment i have to swap the cables over.

i wouldn't be using the signal through the amp and the tv at the same time, though without a switch it would go through both when i have the amp and tv on.

can i just get a normal 1female to 2 male Y splitter to do this or do they somehow split the signal up? i don't mind if i have to turn up the volume louder than usual to get the same sound levels
