Spell check problem

by Vic S / July 1, 2004 1:10 PM PDT

I use Outlook Express Ver 6. and lately, when I hit F7 to do a spell check, I get a box with the folowing information:

Outlook Express
An error occurred while the spelling was being checked

This has been happening for several weeks, irregardless of which word is being checked.

Any solutions would be welcome.

I don't think it is a virus thingy because I run Norton AV, Ad-Aware and SpyBot

Seems like the dictionary or the feature itself is damaged. You could try installing spellcheck again if it has that option as a separate install on the windows XP CD.

I don't have an original CD since XP was installed at the PC factory on my PC. Any other suggestions?

XP CD on HP or Compaq.

The HP and Compaq's I see in this situation have a menu item and offer to make the restore CDs for that rainy day.

If you don't have the XP CD or can't make one then that day arrives sooner it seems.

Please fix this before it becomes critical.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
