I started using Word 2003 and the spell check is missing. In other words it is not HIGHLIGHTED. I don't know what to do!

I am hesitant to write at length but you can uninstall and reinstall Word 2003, apply the latest service pack for Office 2003 and see if that clears it up.

I was afraid someone would suggest that - my friend installed his copy for me and he lives out if state, so I have no disk. Thank u anyway.

Sharing copies?

That's outside the license. So let's fix that.

Go get LibreOffice as it's free and has a spellcheck.

It's over at http://www.libreoffice.org/

The forums can't help any pirate copies.

Check your settings

There's a setting in Word to turn highlighting of misspelled words off. Check to see if somehow that's the cause because it's easy to change.
