Yet another exploit. The problem with such exploits is two fold.
1. They are rare and only work under specific conditions.
2. Fixing it in silicon only fixes the known exploits that not one person I know of has been hit yet.
There are both AMD and Intel fanbois out there so changing chips doesn't appear to be the fix.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THAT EXPOSES YOU TO THIS ISSUE?
Beyond the software fixes that have been claimed, has Intel re spun the basic cpu to fix this problem? If so, what do I look for when I buy a desktop. If no silicon updates yet, do they plan to? (Is there another brand use?) If no plans please comment on the software fixes. I read they are not what they should be... and I wouldn't know.
Thank you.
