Mar 9, 2016 8:22PM PST

Hi Cnet,

I want to upgrade my processor.
Current Specification: Laptop model : HP DV6-1152TX Processor : Processor type - Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400 * 2.0 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB BIOS version : F.25Operating System : Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit Manufacturer : Hewlett-Packard DirectX GrinirectX 11
With which processor I can replace my current processor. Is replacing motherboard and processor is better option?

And I see no documentation to say what fits. I think you are thinking as if this was a desktop. Forget the CPU and change the HDD to a SSD if you want a good speed boost.

with the case. The Mobo has to match the case and all the ports. So basically you can only replace a laptop mobo with the same one your taking out. Most of the time also unless you bought the laptop from the OEM that allows you to configure components the processors aren't removeable. Sometime ever configurable laptops have processors that aren't removable. Plus currently we are on the 6th generation of Intel i series processors and the Core 2 Duo is older than the i series processor. Like Bob says either buy a new laptop or just add a SSD.
