Resolved Question

"Speakers not plugged in"

Mar 18, 2015 1:51AM PDT

Hey guys, so I bought a usb soundcard because there is a broken headphone jack stuck in the computer's jack socket.
I plugged the soundcard into the usb port and a red light came on(to show it's connected)
I then connected my speaker to the soundcard using a two sided jack head cable.
I went into "playback devices" to select my speakers as the default audio device but it said they weren't plugged in.
The icon for the unplugged speakers started to flicker to "ready" and then back to "not plugged in" constantly.
Anyone with any help or comments please feel free to contact me, thank you.

I didn't read where you disabled the PC's current soundcard. I'll pause here to let you tell more.

Thanks for the reply Bob, being the noon that I am, I was unaware regarding the possibility of being able to disable the PC's sound card (I know, kinda stupid) I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

If you can supply a full make and model of the PC, maybe, just maybe we can find instructions on how to disable the onboard audio.
