Speaker setup for samsung 60" smart TV

Sep 25, 2017 11:58AM PDT

I have a 60" samsung smart TV. I am looking for speaker setup on budget ( < $300)
The TV is kept on a TV stand in living room. I like to watch movies on TV and play music. So looking for speakers for that purpose.I am not sure whether 3.1 or 5.1 suits me. The flooring is carpet.
Now the main thing is that, there is a toddler at home. So want to avoid floor stand speakers also avoid wiring as much as possible so that he wont touch/pull the stuffs.

please suggest a good model for my case

First decide on whether you want 2.1, 5.1, etc.

Otherwise, it's too wide of a gamut.

will go with 2.1 as of now

will go with 2.1 as of now as my budget is <300 and room is small. Later i will add surrounds

Keep in mind you will also need a receiver.

Denon AVRS510BT-R Refurbished- $189 @ Amazon

Monoprice 5.1 speakers (just use 2.1/3.1 until your toddler is ready for 5.1) $100 @ Amazon

Not speakers, AV receiver

Refurbs are often indiscernable from new.

Look at the other Monoprice 5.1 speaker options. There are several at varying price points, some right at $100
