Speaker Setup

Mar 16, 2010 8:39AM PDT

Hello

I have a 5.1 sound card in my system, which means I have 5 holes at the back of the PC for the speakers.

Is it possible to do the following >>>
Plug 2.0 speakers into one hole
Plug another set of the same 2.0 speakers into the other hole
Would I, in that example, get a 4.0 surround sound?

1. Would it work?
2. Has anyone tried this?
The above would be cheaper than the cheapest well-branded 5.1 speaker set.

Thanks

Don't guess...read the manual first.

Or you could be just pulling our legs.

I don't remember how many holes exactly.

But if I stick 2.0 and another 2.0 into those holes, will it work as 4.0?

There's no manual that covers this!

I might just try it!
