Speaker Mounting

Jun 8, 2009 11:00AM PDT

I have a Yamaha NS-AP7800PNC and I want to mount the 48" tower speakers on my wall instead of using the stands. The speakers do not have pre-drilled bracket holes for wall mounting. Any ideas? I was thinking of having an auto speaker installer take a look.

How heavy are they???

If there not too big you can use wall mounts used for plants, I would strap the top part to the wall so it will not tip over.

Auto speaker installer...why not?

Lets face it, all it needs is a little common sense. Obviously there are many ways to do this; Hooks facing down mounted on the speakers and the holding brackets facing up mounted on the wall. What brackets and hooks will depend on you, so go out and do a little shopping. But since you are going to let someone else do..why not just let them handle them. Good luck.

Oh, I hope it doesn't look like...

what I pictured in my mind. It look pretty ugly (big 4 foot box hanging on the wall). Hope you do a good job with it though.

Please don't be offended. It's not an attack on my part..just a thought. Also from my understanding of speaker placements, the tweeters should be about ear level (so you don't want it to be too high).
