spdif output from headphone jack seems disabled/damaged

Apr 6, 2005 12:56PM PDT

hello all you wonderful techies. Is it possible for me to have inadvertently turned off my spdif output on my laptop's headphone audio out? I have a fujitsu n3010 laptop that I had connected to my stereo via the headphone optical audio a while back. When i tried to connect it again I couldn't get any sound out of the headphone jack connected to an optical input to my stereo. I get sound out with regular headphones but when i look down through the audio out i don't see the red light i use to see before. How do i know if i have damaged or disabled the spdif?
thank you much
