Spam Filter Recommendations

Dec 26, 2005 5:45PM PST

Hi.. I'm looking for a good freeware spam filter.

Ninety percent of the emails i receive (maybe more) are spam. I'm sure I'm typical in this regard. I know lots are out there but dont know which work well and which do not. I've tried a couple and haven't been real impressed.

I need a spam filter than supports multiple email addresses.

Free, easy to find with google.com and no support from me, it does what I need plus works with my old MSN accounts.

What I use

is Netscapes Messenger email software. It has a Junk option that learns from your input what to junk and what to not. Junk email can be moved to a Junk folder or straight to the Trash folder. I use the latter and have set Trash to empty when I exit Messenger.

I would assume that Firefox's Thunderbird does the same, as would most email software.

The only drawback I can think of is that the emails still get downloaded to my computer, but I never see them so I am not bothered.
