1. Give them a new email address.
2. Be sure they are not infected with some mass mailing virus or worm. Too often we find such a user to be "infected."
3. If their account was receiving a lot of spam, the user using it would not slow down the amount coming into said server. There are many SPAM filters available for Linux, so I would be chatting with the Linux guru you have about implementing one of them.
4. "Unix" is rare to find these days. It's now SCO Unix and that's about the only "Unix" you will find out there. Linux is not "Unix" but might be called such. This is only worth noting since it will make a difference when the search for spam filtering tools commences.

our e-mail is networked through our unix server. recently 3 of our users have experience trouble accessing their e-mail and were unable to send or recieve. in addition to that this situation has slowed our server down to a crawl. we are able to opperate normally only if those 3 users do not attempt to use outlook express. our tech support surmised that the 3 users are being bombarded with spam e-mail and the amount and size of this influx is so large our server cannot process this info. they have offered no solution that we deem reasonable. if anyone knows how to combat this any help would be appreciated. tom
