What is the best "spam blocker" software? Are there free programs?

I personally have come to wonder how I lived without Mozilla's (www.mozilla.org) adaptive spam filter (now also found in Eudora 6.0 and Outlook 2003). It doesn't block spam so much as identify which messages are likely spam when downloaded by comparing it to messages you have flagged as spam in the past.

The tradeoff of having to download the spam also means that legitimate mail that may look like spam to blocking programs will still get through. I also get a kick out of some of the subject lines for spam personally. It gives me a small amount of amusement to wonder about the sorts of people who would fall for these sorts of things. All before the messages are whisked off to the junk folder.
