SP2--what do I have?

I thought I saw an advisery that SP2 was available for download. Since I wanted to download the file to an empty directory for myself and to burn a CD for a neighbor with a dial-up system, I clicked on the icon. Nothing seemed to happen.

Just now I clecked on Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and find 15 entries in the "Currently Installed Programs" area all labeled "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2)Q123456"

All I wanted to do was to load the silly SP2 update, but I may have hosed the system somehow.

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

You are not supposed to have SP2 yet. It's not officially released for the average user. You should have just waited and downloaded it with automatic updates from microsoft. Who knows what you downloaded but you can try system restore if you have that enabled.
