Today I finally bit the bullet and let Windows XP Home install SP2. I was surprised that the total installation time was only 15 minutes.
Of course, after the installation, it asks you to do a reboot for the final settings. When Windows rebooted, it came up in VGA (16 color mode) with an error message that it couldn't find my ATI Radon 9800 Pro driver. This is strange because it used the same driver fine running XP SP1. I elected to update the driver option and it requested my ATI program disk that came with my video card. After a little grinding, it asked for another reboot and then the program loaded my video card correctly (1600x1200 mode) and the computer seems to be running great.
So if you want to install SP2, you better have your original driver available.
