SP2

Are you using IE6? If so, you may have discovered a "feature" of SP2. It's updated the firewall and added some other additinal security elements. If you are using IE, you might try another browser. It's also possible that, while you have been more vulnerable, there has been intrusive software installed on your PC.

You have to be completely prepared for SP2 which means. Spyware free, Adware free, virus free BEFORE you install SP2, Also go to this link from Microsoft which also has links inside of it that will tell you what to do to prepare, including programs that are known to have problems which you may have to patch BEFORE you install SP2. Also go to your computer manufacturer's web site to see if any programs that came with your computer (non Microsoft programs) that need some sort of a patch BEFORE you install SP2. rkrk, Well i had the same results the firt go with sp2. So i went to the web site mention in the reply and found i need to disable virus protection. Then it worked fine but system was slow. I then downloaded a program called Optimizer XP from the Windows Xp web site. And now i have my speed back and everything is Ok. Hope this helps...........
