Soyo Bayone Extreme installation problem

by kwatson512 / February 10, 2005 9:21 AM PST

I followed Rick Broida's tips to get rid of component clutter, but the Soyo BayOne Extreme I received only has cables with pin connectors (for motherboard connections). I need to connect the pins from the BayOne to a regular USB connection. Where can I find that kind of cable, or is the unit I received incomplete?

BTW, I'm installing in a 5.25-inch bay in a Dell Dimension 4100 machine running WinXP SP2. I don't need to enable the audio connections, but do need the USB card reader. Thanks, Ken

Soyo Bayone Extreme installation problem

I also followed Rick Broida's tips to get rid of component clutter and I also am having the same issue. (Nobody sells a "USB HEADER to USB STANDARD" converter. I am hoping that someone (perhaps Rick himself) will post a fix to this problem. Otherwise I just spent alot of money and time for nothing. One would think that Soyo would think ahead and include this in the box along with all the extra wires they send. By the way, Rick, after I do get this converter, does the USB connection power and contrall ALL of the BAYONE? If so, why did they send all the other wires and where would they go?

Soyo Bayone connector cable
by tarafru / February 11, 2006 7:53 AM PST

So, I was sucked in too. Got the cable recommended by a previous post and I think I am still missing something. It's just one cable. There are 4 connectors from the 2 USB ports. How can I plug everything in with one cable? Am I missing something else? And does anyone have anymore info on how to connect the other audio/video cable. I have NO idea where this goes and the instructions that come with the drive are SO inadequate. thanks.

The Samsung Galaxy S8's fast speeds and fantastic curved screen make it a top phone for 2017, but the annoying fingerprint reader could sour your experience.
