"Source" for TV has to be HDMI 1/ DV1?

by StickMaker / November 4, 2009 5:42 AM PST

I have a HDMI cable from my HD Receiver to the TV (Samsung 55" TV Model: LN55B650T1FXZC s/n: AYQC3CNS400159X Version CN01) but in the Media list, if I select "TV" it shows only snow. I have to go down to HDMI1/DV1 to make the TV show. There are FOUR HDMI plugins on the back; 3 together and one on the "side." None of the 4 allows TV viewing with "TV" as the Source.

How can I make Source "TV" show the TV?

Tuner

The "TV" input is for the internal TV tuner.

You are using an external tuner, so you have to use one of the HDMI inputs. I believe the only other way to do it is if your tuner has a RF out to connect to the Antenna input of the TV.

You also have the option of renaming the HDMI input.

StickMaker,

The default input will always be the tuner. I've seen a number of people experiencing the same issue. I don't know if this will be changed in the future, but for the time being, the only input is the "always on" input - which is the tuner.

To directly answer your question, I don't know of a way to make any other input the default.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
