soundmax crashing Vista

Mar 8, 2007 2:48AM PST

upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP SP2 Sunday, have worked out all issues but one. When SoundMax drivers are enabled, Vista will spontaneously reboot sometime in the first 10 minutes after log on. No pattern to it other than its never more than 10 minutes. Originally had the Vista drivers, then I went to Realtek's site and downloaded those drivers. No difference except there's no sound with Realtek's driver though it acts as if everything's ok.

I'm not at the computer now, but I'll describe it. It is a MicroCenter PowerSpec 3.2 ghz hyperthread Pentium 4. Sound on motherboard, 1 gig ram, NVIDIA 5200 video.
