SoundFonts in XP

by pearljamkornfan / October 31, 2004 10:13 AM PST

I was wondering if my soundcard (SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio on an Intel 82865G MOBO) will support sound fonts. I have 1 GB of ram, a 3.0GHz proc w/ HT tech, 80 GB SATA HDD, sony CDRW/DVD combo, and nVidia GeForce FX5200. Any ideas if they are supported and how to install them if so?

I went to and searched their web site for "SoundFonts", (not a term I am familiar with), but came up with nothing.

Why not try them yourself as you know what you're looking for, and their support section may be able to help you.

Or try a Google search for SoundFonts.

Good luck,

I would say that if the software to load them with a few samples is not included with the MB driver utilities, it will not work. On board sound us usually fairly stripped down and adequate for most people. Soundfonts are rather esoteric.
