Sound quality, file size and format for dumdum's like me

Nov 20, 2006 10:33AM PST

I have a new ipod and want to preserve the best sound quality i can.I plan to use itunes lossless when downloading from that site. But i also have Windows Media Plus which allows me to store my own cd`s at a Windows Lossless rate which they claim is almost the equivalent,in sound quality,to the original cd.Question 1--is that true? 2 can i move my own cd,s recorded in windows to itunes? what,s the best way to enjoy the ipod, preserve quality and utilize the meia player? I apologize in advance for my rocksolid idiocy
