Sound Problem

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC dv6000 (Laptop)Vista 32 bit Home Edition.

About two weeks ago the sound just stopped working. I checked device manager and it did not show a problem with the device. Conexant HD Audio,

Even though it showed the device was working I tried updating the driver anyway. No change. Rolled back the driver and still nothing.

Any ideas on how to figure out the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks, but I had already checked that. Did it again just to make sure.
