Recently, certain sounds on certain games have caused the sound on my computer to "pop" and begin to screech/squeal/high pitched noise which lingers until I restart the computer. The noise is both with headphones and speakers and you can NOT hear the noise when you turn the volume down. As soon as you turn the volume back up and it makes the "sample" noise the screeching begins once again. What is the problem here and how do I fix it.
*Note* This issue started recently, one game I played for over 200 hours never had this problem but now when I perform a certain action which makes a certain noise, the sound pops. When I restart my computer the sound finally stops and I can resume using my computer normally.
