Sound editing sound card

Dec 15, 2005 9:22PM PST

I am building my brother a computer for christmass.
He is a producer at the University's record label.
He wants to be able to bring recordings home and plug a certain machine into the computer- he told me the name but I dont remember- and work on sound editing on this computer.

What type of sound card should I be looking at that allows him to do this?
I will find out shortly what the machine is and what kind of connections it uses,
but if in the meantime you can think of something I'd greatly appreciate it.

You guys have always been a great help.

He's probably talking about the MIDI format. Look for a sound card that can handle MIDI processing. The Sound Blaster Audigy Pro models can do that pretty well. MIDI allows you to "plug" instruments to create music. As important is the editing software he will be using but that should be available at the campus store.

and life goes on...
