General discussion

sound cut-out and error message received

Nov 23, 2009 5:21AM PST

We have recently bought a Samsung UE46B8000 TV and HT-TZ325 digital home cinema system plus the wireless receiver. A Samsung BDP1600 Bluray player and Samsung Skyplus are also connected. In the last few days we have started getting an error message displayed on the DVD player 'RCHK' at the same time as the sound cutting out. This is becoming a tad irrating for the family. We have looked up this error message but can't find any details in the literature. Can you help please.

jezsaz,

RCHK usually indicates that two speaker wires are touching, and this keeps the amp from breaking. You might check all of your wires to make sure they're not touching.

We have also been experiencing the RCHK error message on the dvd player but the sound is NOT cutting out. How do we fix this, or what might be wrong?

MeggyJay,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem with your player.

What model do you have?

You might check to make sure that the positive and negative speaker wire's aren't touching at both the base of the head-unit (the back of the receiver) and at the speaker terminals as well.

If no wires are touching and you still have this issue, you may want to contact the Samsung customer service center for further troubleshooting.
