Sound Card Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio

Jun 14, 2005 11:44AM PDT

I recently bought a Compaq Presario Notebook and I am now considering buying good speakers to use my for laptop as my home sound system...

I am trying to figure out what are the specs of my soundcard to see if it could be compatible with good speakers... but can't find the information I need...

In the sound section of windows xp control panel, my soundcard is said to be a SoundMax integrated Digital Audio but I don't know where to find the properties of this soundcard (such as 2.1, 5.1, surround, thx supported, maximum sound power-watta supported,...)

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks a lot...

99.99% or 100% of the laptops I've encountered in 2 decades are stereo or 2.1

Since Bob answered the main question. I have one.
Do you have home system now??
Keep in mind that the output is a line level and you will need powered speakers or a reciver with regular speakers.
