Sound card and system restore not working

Feb 9, 2011 12:51PM PST

Hello. I'm running Vista on an HP Pavilion dv6. I restarted my computer earlier to install updates, and when it restarted, I had no sound. So I went to do a system restore and it won't open. I tried to do it both in normal mode and safe mode, but neither one opened. I have tried getting to it several different ways. The original box opens and I click "Allow" to let it open. Then when I go to do the actual restore, nothing happens. It just sits there. I've waited several hours and tried to click it again, but it says that the restore wizard is already running, but nothing actually is. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Collin

Yes I have Norton 360 Premier. I think it's version four.
