Depending on the size of your TV and the size of the room, you might look at a Sony HT-CT150. I don't think that will solve your remote problem if your TV doesn't provide for muting the built-in speakers when external speakers are attached.
You might also consider looking at a Logitech Harmony universal remote. Rather than the standard universal remotes that require input of codes, the Harmony is programmable by a computer and links to a database of thousands of brands and models of audio/video equipment.
I have a Sharp LC-52D85UN and I want to connect a sound bar to replace the built in speakers. I would like to be able to control the sound volume from the same controller I use to change satellite channels on Bell Expressvu and to change volume on the built in speakers. What sound bar (choice of inputs, etc such as optical and HDMI) should I choose? I assume I will need on with HDMI. Is this correct? I will probably want to also be able to connect a Samsung DVD player at some point. I don't want to have to have two controllers one being for the satellite receiver/ TV and a remote just to control the volume of the sound bar.
Thank you for a response
