If this is a brand new unit and you are having these types of problems I'd suggest you return it to your retailer or call in to Dell, if it is new you should have a warranty that would cover such issues.
So I have a brand new Dell XPS 8500 desktop and it runs like a dream besides one odd glitch that I haven't figured out how to fix and I"m having a hard time even figuring out what to Google.
Every few minutes it seems like the whole computer freezes up for "stutters" for a fraction of a second. The sound either cuts off for a moment or emits something of a buzzing noise like their is a glitch in the audio. Any video on the screen also "stutters" or "glitches" for a just a tiny second. It doesn't seem to have any effect on actual performance outside of the brief moment the glitch actually happens, but it's getting on my nerves. I'm a digital artist so when I'm painting on a Wacom tablet and the whole computer glitches out momentarily, I get errant marks. It is just plain annoying and I feel like it is getting worse (though I could be imagining that).
My specs are as follows:
Dell XPS 8500
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4oGHz 3.40GHz
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit Operating System
Nvidia GeForce GT 640
Let me know if you need any other specs
