Blue blotch on my 90 year old Mothers Sony E50A10TV. Otherwise, the picture and colors are great.
I have all the original paper work, including an extended warranty that I purchased, it was and is now USELESS.
I filed the Sony Warranty paperwork, and was never notified of any recall or issue with my purchase. Makes you wonder why anyone would submit the information. We did get all kinds of Sony Marketing materials after the purchase. No value in the warranty process for the consumer?
Sony has no reasonable solution or technical assistance or customer service option available. Really? Looking for any option to extend the life of a serious investment for a person on a fixed income. She invested in Sony to obtain the best quality with the promise of a serviceable unit. Apparently, based on phone calls to Sony authorized repair outlets, "best to trash it and buy another brand."
After spending $2,809.28 cents, Sony would like me to trash the "joy of lifetime of Sony ownership" promise and spend another $4,000 with them to get the next top of the line product. Really, that is the BEST "customer service advice you have?" I promise that won't be happening, based on this experience with the Sony line of consumer products.
At this point, I will be happy to share my experience and documented paperwork/facts with anyone, be it a Sony employee or the 2 million+ people that interact with me on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
