General discussion

Sony vs. Samsung

Traditionally, Sony displays I think have a reputation for its quality. I'm thinking the top ones are Sony and Samsung, but don't know which is better.

Thanks.

Ditto that, waiting to see what David Katzmaier says so far.

According to the Crave site, it seems like he has the Samsung LN46A750 and the Sony KDL-46W4100 set for review this upcoming week. I'm most certain that he will come up with a verdict as far as who's on top so far. For me, personally, I'm waiting to see what Sony does with higher-end models this year, since Sony may be down, but not out, as the saying goes. The A750 may probably be the best picture on the store wall, but I have hope that at least the Z4100, if not maybe an XBR6 may probably put the A750 to bed, but time will indeed tell on that one.

Sony and Samsung are similar

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading an article somewhere that mentioned Sony and Samsung made an agreement to develop TVs together. The only significant difference is their processors. i.e. Sony has their Bravia Pro (for the XBR models) and Samsung has an equivalent. Based on reviews from CNET and other sites, both the Samsung and Sony are at the top in LCDs. I've also heard their screens are built at the same factory (not sure if that is true). I think either model would be a great choice. \
