Its not worth it
Jun 7, 2006 9:04PM PDT

Its not even worth it with some apple fans yes PC is a acronym for personal computer but its not something someone that would make a statement like I have an apple I don't need to update is going to give credit to b/c all they look at when they decide to buy their next computer is what the latest release from apple is. Which heck apple makes a good product you can't go wrong really there well maybe with a Power Mac G5 but the point really is this an apple is made with the same parts as a PC in some cases inferior for the price range what you pay for is your OS and the software it is capable of running(just a little side note for those who don't know just as vunerable as windows less targeted though). Anyways case and point no Mac not even the Intel based machines are gaming consoles so no need to mention them anymore here although I do still think it is blatatly ignorant to believe a machine with the same parts somehow needs to be updated less often b/c it has a different OS but w/e find out for yourself.

RE: Xbox is the best ?
May 14, 2006 4:56AM PDT

Well, for one thing, i belive graphics will not decide who will win, but innovation, and the ''fun'' factor. When the Sega gamegear came out, it has a color screen while the gameboy was monochromatic. But soon enough, people realized that the games sucked and that they'd rather play mario and Zelda and tetris even if they were black and white Happy The Xbox 360 has been out for some time now, and i dont think that people are gonna buy one just because other systems are out. Its making its way back into stores, actually in stock.and nintendo is making a very intelligent move with the 85 year olds. There are tons of old people, and if they can have fun with a affordable video game system, then chances are that they' ll get it. Nintendo is trying to reach everyone who doesnt regularly play video games. And as for the ''worst games on the ds'' oddly enough , according to EGM May 2006, out of the top 10 portables, 6 are from Nintendo (one a gba game!) and the top 2 are Mario Kart, and ACWW.
Please, have sources before you make comments on ''the worst'' games or things that ''everyone'' allegedly thinks

Xbox IS the best!
May 15, 2006 8:28AM PDT

You are right. Graphics aren't everything, but would you rather play Pong or Halo 2? I have realized that Nintendo appeals to small children and old people. Sony and Microsoft appeal more to teens and mature gamers. When I got my PS when I was 9, I didn't like it because the games didn't appeal to my age level. So, I got an N64 and loved the kiddy games. Nintendo is now appealing more to lower price than quality. And I have the hardware specs to prove it. They came out in today?s newspaper.

As it is hown here, the 360 and PS3 have superior hardware to the Wii. It doesn?t support HD. (From other forums I have gathered the info that the Wii has a barely better graphics card than GC) And so it will have worse quality games. Though the games will be less expensive than the ones for 360 and PS3, I have this to say? would you rather own 1 really good game or 2 OK gmaes? I must admit that the PS3 is overkill with 7 processors. And the odd number of controllers is strange. What do you have to say to that nespaint?

You realize
May 16, 2006 6:17AM PDT

that the lower end 500 dollar PS3 does not have wireless capabilities, bluetooth or wi-fi, so you will be stuck using a cabled controller. Oh and it does not support HD output (the 500 dollar version), or memory slots. And the new controller is so cool they decided to not give force feedback in the new model they decided to go with the old tilt technoilogy.

Sources
May 17, 2006 9:38AM PDT

I will show my sources later. You realize that your first site is clearly biased, and biased sites usually tell only the good things about the console they are representing. I agree with you that Sony is making a bad decision about not adding any HD or other options to its lower end console, but I have this to say to you? The Wii isn?t supporting HD at all. Please don?t say that that doesn?t matter. It does. Have you seen the difference between HD and non HD? The difference is amazing. While Nin is still not using HD, the visual quality of their games will be less than PS3 and 360?s. Nin in a lot of things is a gen behind. Online play has been out for 5 years and Nin is just now incorporating it. The rumor that online play is free is a bad thing. You may be shoked at me saying this but think: If a company makes no profit off a product, why will they make it better? This goes for the online play. Nin, since they are making no profit off it, will not put funds into it to make it better. It just won?t be convnient (or cost effective) to do so.

Many people think that the Wii will be the best just because of the controller. Regular controllers are just fine and I see no reason to change them. An example of this in real life is tanks. The M1 Abrams (the most advanced tank in the world) uses the same driving controlls as the first tank to ever come out (so do all other tanks). So if it works, why change it? I assure you, there will be most certainly be problems with the controller. Also, why is Nintendo not releasing all of the tech specs of the Wii? What are they afraid of? Probably just want to make it better since all the other consoles put their specs out since they realized that the hardware they had was not good enough. (at least on the newspaper I read and they got their info directally from the E3)

And now here are my souces:

Can you tell
May 17, 2006 12:41PM PDT

me how many people have HD televisions, and out of that many people are gamers. And Nintendo is the first system to incorporate wireless technology standard on their system. Also the online gamesplay will be supported by purchaseing the games from previous systems and sega.

- Collapse -
Nintendo was not the first
May 18, 2006 2:52AM PDT

to incorporate wireless into their system. PSP can surf the net and the DS can't do it. It dosn't matter how many people have HD tvs. The PS3 aand 360 don't need it to play, but the quality will be worse (but still better than the Wii). HD is kind of a bonus. But its better to have it than not.

May 18, 2006 9:22AM PDT

You need a burner so you can download them off the internet and put them on DVD. You wouldn't do that on a computer because you might get a virus and since 360 dosn't run on windows, wont. The other stuff that you supposedly "don't need" is to enhance your gaming experience. You are saving money (and space) buying those consoles, because with them you dont need to buy a DVD player.

Ive already

talking about pirating games off the internet? An I had no idea that the XBOX 360 could actually surf the net and go to websites to download games. Because I am pretty sure that Microsoft will not allow games for download onto the HD of the 360.

has all the things you will ever need
Jan 31, 2007 9:04AM PST

the ps3 can be used as a lot more than a game console. a entire computer for $500-600. use google's free online word and excel mirrors to do work, attach a keyboard to type. you could in the future possibly connect a printer to the ps3. also, ps3 is not succeptible to viruses. also, ps3 does not have a burner drive, and neither does the x-box. that creates to many piracy issues.

Crugg, I deleted your response to this post because you stepped beyond the facts and into a personal attack. However, you are right in pointing out that the Xbox 360 cannot burn CDs/DVDs. If you click here, you'll find a Cnet Alpha blog which points to a misprint circulating incorrect information. Also, if you click here, you'll find that the Xbox 360 only has a DVD-ROM drive, so it can read burned media, but not burn it.

John

It's not that great
Jan 31, 2007 10:00AM PST

there are a few noticable problems with running a browser on the ds. firstoff, it only has 4 mb of ram. my psp has 32 mb of ram and it can't fully load some pages. also, the flash animations would be of poor quality, if there was support for flash at all. and, none of the internet browser workings could be upgraded without buying a toally new one.

Hd
May 18, 2006 9:24AM PDT

makes the games more expensive and that is a serious problem in some countries. In europe for instance the cost for a 360 game right now is 70 euro (100 bucks)!
While the wiis games arent going to cost. And dont saythat the difference between Hd and norm is from Halo 2 to pong because it is not. Sure the HD graphics are cool but they arent neccesary to enjoy a game.
I think society today cares to much about the graphics and to little on the game itself.

Listen, its true that xbox 360 and PS3 are for more mature. I wonder how nintendo is going to do? I think horrible, I don't think that they're gonna last long un til they're no longer as popular as they used to be and they're probably gonna go out of business

May 18, 2006 9:49AM PDT

that u need to have the hardisc attachment to actually play the older games. Cuz the wii dosent need an attachment and it still plays all the old games. Unlike the xbox 360 which even if you have the hard disc attachment cannot play all old xbox games. If you dont believe me check cnets review about the 360 and listen closely when he says that not all previous xbox games will work on it.
