Hello.
I recently bought the Sony VGN-NW250F/S yesterday for: $770 from a reliable retailer with excellent warranty support.
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665974288#additionalImage1"
Today I saw another model: VGN-NW240F/T with the same specs for about $150 less at Best Buy for only $630 if I use Pay Pal.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+VAIO+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B2+Duo+Processor+-+Brown/9556161.p?id=1218124205643&skuId=9556161&st=NW240F&cp=1&lp=1&AID=10597222&PID=227502&SID=A11A0A0B4A06184157A0B3&URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2FSony%2B-%2BVAIO%2BLaptop%2Bwith%2BIntel%2526%2523174%253B%2BCore%2526%2523153%253B2%2BDuo%2BProcessor%2B-%2BBrown%2F9556161.p%3Fid%3D1218124205643%26skuId%3D9556161%26st%3DNW240F%26cp%3D1%26lp%3D1&ref=39&loc=01#tabbed-customerreviews
So what I did was do some research and over all both models have high ratings except that the one at Best Buy people are complaining about the battery life; furthermore when I try to find it on Sony's web site a message says that the company is no longer selling the model.
My question is...should I stay with the newer model even though it appears to have exactly the same specs as the one at Best Buy. I'm not sure if Sony some how upgraded the computer and put another model number on it.
I plan to use this computer for mobile multitrack audio recording with Cubase, Pro Tools, and the Yamaha N8 Mixer.
Thanks for your support.
Steve
