Sony Vaio VGN-S360: LOUD Fan!!

by LiQuiD_FuSioN / January 23, 2006 12:58 AM PST

Wow, is it just my imagination or is my laptop's fan getting noiser and noiser each week? Is it a sign of wear and tear as well?

Is there a way to replace the fan and have a much quieter one? It's gotten to a point where I need to turn off the laptop, so I can get some sleep!

Wow ,
I have a Imb thinkpad and does it ever growl . Everytime the fan turns on its worse. At first it wasn't so bad but each time i used it its worse always. I have to turn it off as soon as the fan comes on or put it into standby to cool down otherwise it would drive you mad. I have been thinking about getting a new fan , but Maybee its not worth it , the laptops a few years old and I called a computer place, they said it was about a $300 repair. I havn't had time to look around for prices much more but .. yes if anyone knew how they could help i could use a hand as well !!

Half the problem was because the fan was clogged of filth and dust. After doing so, the fan was atleast 50% quieter! It was hilarious.. and here I thought my computer was melting from the inside. lol!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
