And don't run your OS but I do know the areas I look at to correct this.
1. Battery Calibration. Varies with OS and machine so do your research.
2. In linux, this is ALL OVER THE MAP so hit the linux forum for the version of linux you run and tell which tool is doing the reporting.
-> But here's a thought. Since this is purely cosmetic and you know 80% is 100% why fix it?

Hi
I own a SONT Vaio and have 2 operating systems installed on it (Windows Vista and Ubuntu 9.04). Now due to lack of focus or having memory problems, I don't really remember what I did. I was looking for ways to extend my laptop battery's life and somewhere on one of the OSs it said make it 80%, i.e. when the battery is charging it charges to the maximum 80% and stops, and then starts spending from 80% disregarding the other 20%. As I said, I can't remember which OS I did it on but I need to change it back to 100% and I don't really remember how. I need help because it's barely lasting me an hour and I only started using it since May. Thank you
